Come see Mike de la Rocha perform live at the 9th Annual Winter Anti-Mall on Saturday, December 18, 2010. The Anti-Mall is here again! What is the Anti-Mall, you ask? Well, at least twice a year, a grassroots organization by the name of El Puente…Hacia La Esperanza puts together an event that focuses on putting People B4 Profit, Recycling your Money, and being a Conscious Consumer. Since its inception, the Anti-Mall has been heavily influenced by Zapatista Cooperatives. On their MySpace, El Puente…Hacia Esperanza elaborate,  “This project is inspired by our people. A just economy starts with us thinking and working autonomously, and not relying on an unjust system to create solutions. El Puente…Hacia La Esperanza, is the possibility for globalizing a just economy one step, one community, one person at a time.” So what does this mean? It means that you can shop guilt-free because all goodies sold at the Anti-Mall are handmade with love or are sold preloved; items ranging from jewelry, hats, t-shirts, vintage clothing, soaps, body oils, to CD’s, vinyl, paintings, sculptures, and the list goes on and on and ON! This event is worth checking out. There is always delicious food and fabulous LIVE entertainment. This year, Mike de la Rocha will be performing alongside DJ Gomez Comes Alive, DJ Rudy Rude, DG Glitch in the System, and many other amazing artists. And yes, it is a FREE FAMILY EVENT! The 9th Annual Winter Anti-Mall is bound to be epic, so don’t forget to spread the word and support independent art! NEW LOCATION: Old Hazard Park Armory (1350 San Pablo Street, Boyle Hights, [...]
